The autumn index — 2026
Ten wardrobes, one unhurried point of view. From first growsuit to the long evening — cut, sewn and finished in India.
House of dress — est. 2014
Ten wardrobes
Baby through senior, with the same attention to proportion, cloth and the way a garment should feel after a long day. Choose a wardrobe to begin.
All ten wardrobesThe premise
We believe in clothes that are appropriate for a person: their days, their shoulders, their idea of a good evening. So we draft each wardrobe on its own terms — then hold every piece to the same standard of cut and cloth.
Nothing here is a costume. Nothing is borrowed from a younger rack and shrunk. Each line begins with a body and a life.
Most reached for
The pieces our clients return for, in a second colour or a second size. Quiet favourites across all ten wardrobes.
The women’s collection
Sculpted dresses, fluid sarees and outerwear that holds its line from morning meeting to last table. Cut to move, finished to last.
The men’s collection
Suiting with a modern line, shirting that softens with wear, and knits that work as hard on a Friday as they do on a Sunday.
The little wardrobes
Playground-proof cotton and occasion pieces that survive the photograph and the cake. Sized honestly, finished gently.
Dressed for the date
Weddings, receptions, naming days and the front row of the family photograph. Four ways into the evening.
The palette
Forest, cream, terracotta and ink. Four house colours that carry across every wardrobe — and every season.
The gallery
Six studies from the studio and the shop floor — folded, hung, stacked and caught in the morning light.
Cloth & materials
Cotton, silk, linen and wool blend — chosen for how they age, not only how they photograph.
Lookbook
Pieces photographed where they live: on the rail, in the fitting room, under an open sky.
The atelier
Our studio keeps a small floor and a long memory. Patterns are drafted in-house, cloth is chosen by hand, and every sample is worn before it is signed off.
We work with a network of family-run units across India — the kind of places where a seam is still called by its name.
What we hold
01
Natural fibres first. Blends named on the label, never buried in a footnote.
02
Room where you bend, sit and reach. No garment that asks you to stand still.
03
Ten wardrobes, drawn separately. The same standard from first growsuit to long coat.
04
Seams, buttons and hems mended at cost. A longer life is the only real luxury.
In print
“A rare thing: a family wardrobe that does not patronise the family.”
The Slow Edit — Autumn issue
“NOIR THREADS makes age look like a design decision rather than a limitation.”
Cloth & Country
“The best kind of Indian label — international in line, local in hand.”
Studio Quarterly

The dispatch
Short reads on cloth, cut and the business of getting dressed at every age.

Cloth
The pattern room, the paper weight, and the small errors that make a garment fit a person rather than a size chart.

The rail
What to keep when the season cannot decide: linen, a light knit and one good overshirt.

Materials
Longer fibres, fewer washes, better seams — and why the cheapest shirt is rarely the least expensive.
The dispatch
New lines, cloth notes and the occasional private preview. One send a month — never a daily knock.
Client care
Delivery, returns, sizing and repair — the quiet machinery behind a good wardrobe.
On every order over ₹14,999, across India.
Unworn, with tags. Collection can be arranged.
A real measurement guide for every wardrobe, baby to senior.
Seams, buttons and hems, mended at cost for the life of the piece.
Questions
No. NOIR THREADS is a demonstration website. No payment is taken, no order is dispatched and no account or email address is stored. The bag, wishlist and recently viewed rail live only in your browser.
Each wardrobe has its own size set — baby and kids by age, adults by XS–XXL. Product pages show the sizes cut for that piece, and the size guide in Client Care explains how to measure.
The collection is cut, sewn and finished in India with a network of family-run units. Fabric notes appear on each product page.
In a real store, yes — 30 days, unworn, with tags. Here the returns policy is shown for demonstration only.
Your index
Kept in this browser only — a quiet record of the pieces you have opened.
